Warriors of Wellbeing and Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership are organising a day of activity to celebrate World Mental Health Day 2019, themed ‘Dawn till Dusk’.
The day will start with a Dawn Dawgs walk, from Royal Sands along Weston beach at 7.15am. Richard and rescue dog Roobi, will be highlighting the mental health benefits of fresh air, exercise and contact with our four-legged friends. Please join us for the walk, chat about mental health and bring your furry friend too!
At sunset, there is a rare opportunity to de-stress and be guided by only one of only a few masters of mindfulness, Mr. Simon Barnes of beingmindul.me, in a harmonious and tranquil position at the end of Clevedon Pier. The meditation will begin at 6.15 pm as we watch the sun go down over the Bristol Channel.
The infamous, pink clad, Ambling Brass Band will then lead us from the pier along Clevedon seafront, for our dragon led & lantern lit parade. The Walk ends at Salthouse Pub at 7pm, where we will hold a fun Mental Matters Pub Quiz. There will be a £1 entry fee and £50 prize for the winning team, with proceeds towards future mental health events and patient care.
AWP Involvement Coordinator, Stephen Budd says, “This is the third year that we have run this event in Clevedon and we want to build on that support to raise awareness to the wider community. Its great to play our part in this worldwide event to challenge, stigma, raise awareness and improve our wellbeing”.
