Bristol Community Health bids farewell and plans to donate its residual reserves

After nine years of work, 70,000 prevented hospital stays and 6.5 million contacts with patients, Bristol Community Health is no more. They have planned to invest their residual reserves in local charities, via plans including:

  • Supporting the increased provision of housing for key workers and other innovative health and wellbeing housing schemes in Bristol, tackling one of the city’s most significant causes of health and wellbeing issues (via Bristol & Bath Regional Capital, a community interest company);
  • Making significant financial support available to other voluntary, community and social enterprise sector organisations engaged in the provision of health and wellbeing services to diversify and increase resilience in their businesses. This will help to ensure the continuation of the significant contribution that voluntary organisations currently make to managing demand on NHS services (via Bristol City Funds, managed by Quartet Community Foundation and Bristol & Bath Regional Capital
