We are looking for your views on Bristol City Council’s Bristol Impact Fund consultation. The city’s voluntary sector could benefit from a £5.4m boost from Bristol City Council.
Consultation live now. https://bristol.citizenspace.com/communities/bristol-impact-fund-consultation/ . Consultation closing date 16th December.
We’ve launched a new consultation seeking your views on the council proposals for the second tranche of the Bristol Impact Fund (BIF) which would provide significant investment in the city’s voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VCSE).
Bristol is the only major city in the UK that has an impact fund specifically to invest in the VSCE sector. Since BIF launched in 2017, seventy organisations have received grants and 7,000 volunteers have been involved in projects that have reduced financial, food and fuel poverty; tackled unemployment; increased digital inclusion; enabled people to better participate in their community; reduced social isolation and; improved wellbeing. We know the legacy of this funding is helping us build strong community foundations, reduce inequality and improve the lives of citizens.
COVID-19 has demonstrated how vital our voluntary and community sector is to the city. It was amazing to see so many people come together to support each other in their time of need, and it is that energy that we hope to harness in the second round of the Bristol Impact Fund as we look to help people recover from the impact of the pandemic.
With this in mind this consultation is seeking the views of VCSE groups and organisations in the city to inform the council’s approach for this second Bristol Impact Fund, which will decided by Cabinet on 2nd February 2021.
You can see the full draft of our proposal and respond to our consultation here: https://bristol.citizenspace.com/communities/bristol-impact-fund-consultation/. The consultation closes on 16 December 2020.
