Opportunity to join the Carers Support team – Parent Carer Support Officer, Bristol
Carers Support Bristol and South Gloucestershire provide a wide range of information, advice, and support services for unpaid adult and young carers.
We have a vacancy for a Parent Carer Support Officer which is based at our offices in the Vassall Centre, Fishponds. This is a fixed term post until 30th June 2026 and can be worked on a hybrid basis.
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (preferably on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays)
Salary: £15,243 actual based on hours above (£25,406 per annum FTE)
This role is focused on parents who care for children with additional needs. Day-to-day work will include:
• Providing advice information and guidance
• Providing one to one practical and emotional support
• Signposting and referring parent carers to partner organisations
• Maintaining and updating client records
• Working closely with Bristol Parent Carers
Applicants will need to have good verbal and written communication skills and be computer literate. Previous experience in a role that has involved advice and support would be helpful. A comprehensive induction and appropriate training will be provided.
