10th January -pub night at the Commercial Rooms (7.30pm-9.30pm)
Bristol City Council have pledged to make Bristol an autism friendly city. This is good news, but there hasn’t been any real action on this pledge yet. We want to talk to the new Mayor of Bristol, Marvin Rees, about how challenging Bristol can be for people with autism and the things he could do to make it more autism friendly. The National Autistic Society are asking autistic people to complete a short letter to the Mayor to tell him what needs to change and Henry Barnes will be at the pub group on the 10th of January to help people complete the letter.
The Bristol Asperger Social Group meets every second Tuesday of each month between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. We meet in the back room of the Commercial Rooms (Wetherspoons) pub
43-45 Corn Street
Bristol BS1 1HT
We use the back room of the pub. To find the back room walk in and head towards the far left hand corner of the pub.
Come in and join the friendly company. Andrew Powell is the group facilitator and is usually at each month’s event so ask anyone where Andrew is, or just talk to anyone in the group as everyone is friendly.
There are usually about 20 people attending each month to chat about life and whatever is on your mind. Most people have a diagnosis of Asperger syndrome or high functioning autism.
