Crohn’s & Colitis UK WALK IT Event College Green, Bristol 12th May in Bristol

National charity invites the public to put their best foot forward and WALK IT to raise funds and vital awareness for Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.

This Saturday (12th of May) the national charity will host it’s annual WALK IT event in Bristol. Hundreds of people will take on the 5k or 10k route, exploring the city’s sights and raising vital awareness and funds for those affected by Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.

Celebrity Ambassador

Walking amongst the crowd will be silver medal-winning Olympic swimmer Siobhan Marie O’Connor who was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2012 after competing at the London 2012 Olympics.

Case Study

Alice Swain, 21, was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2017.

“Coming to terms with the illness was really hard. Going from a normal, healthy human to a shell of myself within a couple of months was terrifying. At one point I genuinely thought I was dying. There is not enough evidence for a solid cause or cure for this horrible disease yet so I want to raise as much money as possible as so many people suffer so much with it.”

Alice will be taking part in the WALK IT event on the 12th of May alongside her family to fundraise and raise awareness for Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
