The NHS long term plan says that personalised care should give people the same choice and control over their mental and physical health that they have come to expect in every other aspect of thier life
The evidence tells us that people will have better experiences and improved health and wellbeing if they can actively shape their care and support.
On the back of this, I wanted to tell you about the free physical activity training to healthcare staff provided by PHE.
The training aims to help healthcare professionals engage patients in managing their own condition, by making choices and taking control using physical activity.
The training works on the same ethos as Making Every Contact Count (MECC) using a brief intervention or referral to help change behaviour.
