Greater Bristol National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society- medical event for the 12 September

Dr Emma Dures is a psychologist at Bristol Royal Infirmary and a senior research fellow at UWE and will be one of our speakers at our ‘Coping with Ankylosing Spondylitis’ on Tuesday 12th September. She will be talking about fatigue and arthritis. The benefits of coming to this event are meeting other AS sufferers, a chance to ask experts on their subjects, share your experiences with others and learn new tips. Other speakers include Dr Kate Druett, Psychologist and Adam Waldram Physiotherapist.

Greater Bristol NASS (National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society) are holding the event at the Learning and Research Building at Southmead Hospital, Bristol and it starts at 19:00. It is free for Ankylosing Spondylitis sufferers and their families.

*Footnote – There are over 500 people within just the Bristol area alone that have been diagnosed with a condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis or AS. Ankylosing Spondylitis is a painful and progressive form of inflammatory arthritis that affects the spine. In the most serve cases AS can cause fusion in the spine which limits mobility and flexibility and it takes on average 8.5 years to get diagnosed.
