With effect from 1st July 2017 Next Link will be providing Domestic Violence and Abuse Services in South Gloucestershire. The services they will be providing are outlined below:
Safe Accommodation
They will provide accommodation within the county of South Gloucestershire for people who are fleeing domestic violence and abuse. The accommodation is a mixture of refuge and safe houses/accommodation.
Domestic Violence and Abuse Support Services
This service will :
- Provide a needs led service that is accessible to all victims
- Improve health and well being
- Reduce crime and disorder
- Provide a central point of access for elements of this service
Element one
Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) Specialist Outreach Service that will support victims assessed as high, medium and standard risk victims of domestic violence and abuse.
Element two
Identification and Referral to Improve Safety (IRIS) service that provides a programme of training for all GP surgeries in South Gloucestershire and will provide advocacy support for victims identified by GPs.
Element three
An IDSVA service in North Bristol Trust that supports both residents from South Gloucestershire and Bristol in both Accident and Emergency department and a pilot within maternity services.
Element four – Survivor, Family and Peer support, such as (not an exclusive list):
- Pattern changing programmes
- Community drop-in
- Facilitation of survivor groups, to allow peer support
- Freedom programme or similar
From 1 July all victims that require these services need to be referred to Next Link. All existing services users that have given their consent will be passed to Next Link automatically on 1st July 2017. Existing service users will continue to receive the appropriate support from Survive in the meantime.
