At The Care Forum, our mission is to promote health and wellbeing for all and to challenge inequalities in health and social care policy and services.
I was pleased to be able to make this point on the Sky News coverage yesterday. We know from our work that reduced funding for councils has caused stress for many people in Bristol and the South West, with valuable services sometimes being reduced or cut. If austerity is coming to an end – as promised by the Chancellor yesterday – then we’ve been hearing from people want to understand when this will happen, and what this means for them. We know from research in England that women and people from equalities backgrounds have often ‘felt the pinch’ the most, and so any change in policy might start by addressing the needs of those who have been most affected first.
