The Care Forum are proud to announce the launch of our West of England Equality Network. Our ambition is that our quarterly network will bring together leaders who are Black, Asian, Roma Gypsy and other ethnic minority groups to have open and meaningful conversations about how the VCSFE sector can be overtly anti-racist and support areas such as recruitment, retention, engagement and representation of individuals from a broad cross section of our communities.
There are growing disparities in health outcomes for people who identify as non-white British and we believe by bringing a collective voice to this challenge we can have a positive impact on those who will be experiencing poorer standards and quality of life.
Led by an independent Chair, this innovative forum, will help share good practice within the sector, ensure that experiences and best practice has a cohesive voice and ensure that defined and measurable impacts and areas of influence become ‘seen’.
Quote from TCF, CEO, Kevin Peltonen-Messenger
“This network shouldn’t need to exist, but it has to. Our aspiration is to deliver a strategic voice to leaders and communities who are often not engaged in processes due to accessibility, time or perceived need. Supporting a discussion and developing actions to ensure our sector is anti-racist, inclusive and representative is just another step, a tool, which may help us to develop the sector in a more compassionate and inclusive way”
If you are a VCSFE leader within an organisation based in Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon, Bath and North East Somerset or Wiltshire and wish to join the growing interest in this network, please leave your details with us here or email info@thecareforum.org.uk
