The 2021 Community Governance Review
The council has commenced a review in some parts of South Gloucestershire. The review will consider if new parish or town areas should be set up in some parts of the district and making alterations in other areas to ensure that arrangements reflect the communities they represent.
The terms of reference for the review have been published.
The first stage of consultation has started in the following review areas and will continue until 7 January 2022:
All households in the review areas will receive consultation information in the post. Local councillors, local businesses, community and voluntary groups will also be invited to have their say on the proposals.
A frequently asked questions document is available.
Following the first stage of consultation the Regulatory Committee will consider a report and recommendations. Some review areas may then be included within a second phase of consultation.
Final recommendations of the Regulatory Committee will be considered by Full Council in July 2021. Any changes approved as part of the review will be implemented from the District and Parish elections in May 2023.
