University Hospitals Bristol seeks Public Governors

University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) is looking for people who have an interest in healthcare to join its active Council of Governors.

The Trust’s governors represent the views of local people when key decisions are made about our hospitals, which include the Bristol Royal Infirmary and the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

The Council of Governors is made up of 29 people who might be patients of our hospitals, carers of patients, members of staff and members of the public. UHB will be holding elections for 6 public governor seats in Bristol and North Somerset in April, and we are looking for people who would be interested in making a positive contribution to our hospitals to stand for election.

UHB are keen that the governing body is diverse and inclusive and that it is representative of the communities served by their hospitals. If you use our services or you want to give your community a voice, you might be interested in nominating yourself to be a governor. It’s a voluntary role, and no particular skills or experience are necessary, but potential governors should have an interest in the NHS and the time, energy and enthusiasm to represent the views of others.

If you would like to find out more about the governor role, please contact the UH Bristol Membership Team at FoundationTrust@UHBristol.nhs.uk or 0117 342 3764 or visit www.uhbristol.nhs.uk/elections.

Nominations are open from 1 April -20 April 2020.
